1. Really like the book.  Are you planninga second edition that covers all the additions/deletions/changes introduced with the release of WotLK?  It would be great having a single reference to cover the info.

  3. We are working to bring the online reference material up to speed with the 3.0.X changes, but its a bit more complex than just copying the changes thread from the forums, it takes a bit of time.  As for another edition of the book, I don't have anything planned at this time, but anythign is possible!

  4. I was looking at this book in the store yesterday and noticed the website, I decided to come here and check it out before blindly buying. So far what I have read is pretty impressive I am wondering however how long do you think it will take to get everything updated for 3.0.x?

I'm not expecting an exact estimation or anything more curious if this type of thing is going to take like a month or a few months (or signifigantly shorter or longer than that).

  5. If we were to be approched about a second edition it would take at least a month to go through negotiations then probably 3-4 months for the actual content creation and review, then 3-4 months of production/editing.  So you'd be looking at 7-9 months if we were to work on a new edition of the book.  As for the online material, we will update it as soon as possible.. but all if not most of the information is already available on the official WoW forums, we just need to test and input the new information.

    Hope that helps!

  6. Just wanted to mention that for a beginning addon author, the book is still extremely relevant. All of Part I and most of Part II is still exactly the same. Much of Part III is untouched as well, save for a few key points. The most drastic changes in 3.0 were to state headers, a topic that isn't even covered until Chapter 25. The new system is much easier and there's already a lot of documentation for it.

Besides APIs for all the new features (threat meter, achievements, vehicles, death knight runes, etc.), there are only minor differences between the rest of the material in the book and 3.0.
